Beta Pregnancy Test

12:02 PM

A beta pregnancy test is a blood test for hCG. Doctor’s offices and hospitals use this type of test (as you know, home pregnancy tests are urine tests). Beta pregnancy tests come in two types: qualitative and quantitative.

Qualitative tests offer a simple yes or no; pregnant or not answer. The cut-off for a “yes” verdict is similar to many urine tests – 25 mIU of hCG. These tests will confirm a positive urine test that a woman takes at home, or tests a woman for pregnancy if she hasn’t already tested herself.

Most pregnant women hit the 25 mIU mark in their 3rd to 5th week of pregnancy (measured since their last menstrual period), and there can be a wide variance of hCG levels from woman to woman. Remember that a negative qualitative test does not mean that you are not pregnant; it means that your body has not produced enough hCG to register on a pregnancy test.

Quantitative tests show the amount of hCG in the woman’s blood. These tests are useful especially for women who are taking fertility treatments or who have a history of miscarriage. The value of knowing how much hCG in a woman’s blood is knowing whether her hCG levels are increasing. During the first weeks of pregnancy, hCG levels double every 48-72 hours. If a woman is undergoing fertility treatments, she will likely be taking several of these tests to ensure that her hCG levels are increasing and that her pregnancy is developing normally. If the levels are not increasing at the expected pace, she may have had a miscarriage, and would be encouraged to get an ultrasound to confirm the pregnancy.

There you have it: two types of pregnancy tests you didn’t know existed. So when you’re at your doc’s office for a pregnancy test, you can really show your pregnancy know-how by asking, “Is that a qualitative or quantitative beta pregnancy test?”

hCG Levels During Pregnancy

When tracking your pregnancy’s progress with blood pregnancy tests, you will want to see an increase in the level from one test to another. hCG typically doubles every 48 to 72 hours in a healthy pregnancy. If a hCG result is 100 on Tuesday, a second blood test should show a result of 200 on Thursday or Friday.

hCG levels During Early Pregnancy:

hCG levels in weeks from LMP (last menstrual period):

3 weeks LMP: 5 – 50 mIU/ml
4 weeks LMP: 5 – 426 mIU/ml
5 weeks LMP: 18 – 7,340 mIU/ml
6 weeks LMP: 1,080 – 56,500 mIU/ml
7 – 8 weeks LMP: 7, 650 – 229,000 mIU/ml
9 – 12 weeks LMP: 25,700 – 288,000 mIU/ml
13 – 16 weeks LMP: 13,300 – 254,000 mIU/ml
17 – 24 weeks LMP: 4,060 – 165,400 mIU/ml

Travelling : Tips Bagi Ibu Mengandung

10:44 AM

-Beristirehat setiap dua jam sekali.

Perjalanan Menaiki Kapal Terbang

Sleepy

3:00 PM 2 Comments

You need to nap
Early in your pregnancy, you'll start feeling very sleepy during the day. High levels of progesterone bring on this sudden craving for naps. Progesterone is a hormone that helps regulate a woman's reproductive cycle. It also makes you drowsy.
The flood of this hormone can make a normal day at work seem as taxing as running a marathon. You may feel so worn out that you think you're coming down with the flu.
Strangely enough, progesterone can disrupt your sleep at night, leading to even more fatigue during the day. All you can do is rest as much as possible and grab a quick catnap whenever you can.

Source : Babycenter

#1. Overall: Fatigue/Exhaustion
Most women experience increased fatigue during pregnancy, especially during the first trimester. Your body is producing higher levels of progesterone which can make you feel sleepy. Your body also produces extra blood to carry oxygen and nutrients to the developing fetus, this means your heart needs to work harder. Low blood sugar can also be to blame.

Listen to your body; it is working very hard to create your little one. This symptom has only one cure. If you are tired, then sleep - even if it means going to bed at 8pm or taking small naps during the day.

Avoid stimulants (like caffeine, these can be harmful in high doses), get lots of rest (cut back on extra responsibilities if needed, at least until the second trimester), eat a balanced healthy diet (be sure to get enough protein and iron) and get regular exercise (even just walking 30 minutes a day will help).

Implantation Bleeding

11:00 AM 3 Comments

Kredit article : Babymed
The blood pregnancy test usually becomes positive within 3-4 days after implantation, and the urine pregnancy test usually becomes positive 4-5 days after implantation.
Is It Implantation Bleeding or a Menstrual Cycle?
Implantation bleeding usually presents about a week before your menstrual cycle is due to begin (or a week after ovulation). Many women refer to this as spotting or do not even notice the bleeding at all. The closer to the day when the menstrual cycle is supposed to begin that the bleeding is noticed, the less chance of it being implantation bleeding.
It is important to understand that the blood associated with implantation bleeding is not going to be fresh blood. The time it takes for these drops to move out of the body ages the blood. It will appear dark brown, even black by the time the spotting occurs.
If what the woman feels is implantation bleeding is followed by a lighter flow or normal menstrual cycle, the blood was probably not associated with the implantation of the egg.
When the egg is released from the ovary, it travels down the fallopian tube toward the uterus. If the egg meets up with a viable sperm during the trip and the egg is fertilized, it will attempt to implant in the lining of the uterus. Implantation happens on average about 9 days after ovulation/fertilization and is required for the fetus to continue to grow. Ifimplantation is not successful, the egg will flush out of the body with the normal menstrual flow. Satu ikut hway, satu ikut jalan lama ke???*
The lining of the uterus is rich in blood and nutrients. When the fertilized egg enters the uterus, the egg "sticks" the this lining, referred to as the endometrial lining. The endometrial lining is the same lining that sheds every month during the menstrual cycle if a fertilized egg does not implant. Implantation occurs between 6 to 12 days after the egg is fertilized.
Due to the blood rich nature of the endometrial lining, a few drops of blood could move through the cervix and down the vagina. This blood is referred to as implantation bleeding and is a common sign of pregnancy. The blood will not appear red, but rather a darker brown or black due to the time it takes to move from the uterus out of the body.
Implantation is the attachement of the fertilzed egg (called a blastocyst, acluster of tiny cells, smaller than the head of a pin) when it has completed its travel through the fallopian tube and attaches to the lining of the uterus.  Ensuring a healthy endometrium (uterus) lining may help to improve the chances of a positive pregnancy. The amino acid L-arginine has been shown to help facilitate these endometrial secretions, learn more about the potential benefits of l-arginine here
Implantation bleeding and spotting is vaginal discharge that usually contains small amount of pinkish or brownish blood. Only about a third of all pregnant women experience this implantation bleeding. Some women report some bleeding or spotting around the time of implantation, the so called "implantation bleeding".
Implantation bleeding is often brown in color though some mention it to be more reddish.
Implantation bleeding, also called implantation spotting, does not look like a regular menstrual period. Implantation bleeding is scanty and usually pink or brownish discharge.
Implantation Signs and Symptoms
Signs of implantation or possible pregnancy include:

Most women have no subjective symptoms at the time of implantation, no bleeding or cramps, but some women report some drops of blood, the so-called implantation bleeding while others report small cramps.
These symptoms can happen with or without conception andimplantation and of these symptoms and these chart patterns frequently occur on charts that do not result in pregnancy.
When does implantation bleeding happen?
Implantation and implantation bleeding occur on average about 9 days after ovulation (range between 6-12 days), which is about a week to a few days before your period would normally start. Spotting that occurs around a week after ovulation can be implantation bleeding; whereas spotting that occurs much later and a couple days before your period would normally start may not be. A normal menstrual cycle generally starts off light and then gets heavier. Spotting can sometimes be the sign of an early period. If this is the case, the spotting will pick up to heavier bleeding. If you have spotting right around the time your period would normally start, it can be more confusing. You will need to take the wait and see approach or take a pregnancy test to determine pregnancy.

Why do I feel my period is about to come?
If you have had spotting and think it might be implantation bleeding you may be paying very close attention to your body. Unfortunately, apregnancy test will rarely if ever be positive at the time of implantation bleeding. If you are trying to get pregnant, the good news is that early pregnancy symptoms feel very similar to the start of your period. If you are pregnant you may begin to notice symptoms of early pregnancy right around the time your period would normally start and sometimes sooner than that. If you suspect pregnancy you can test for pregnancyas early as ten days after ovulation.

How common is implantation bleeding?
Implantation bleeding is fairly common with pregnancy and maybe around twenty to thirty percent of women will have spotting atimplantation and during early pregnancy. If you have some light spotting before your period would normally start this is not something to worry about and may be a sign of pregnancy.

Implantation happens about 9 days (range 6-12 days) after ovulation, and you can then have a typical BBT pregnancy chart. Most women report at most a few drops of blood -- maybe one to two small red or brown spots in the panties, Bleeding similar to a menstrual period is unlikely implantation bleeding.

Enjoy The Practice!

11:32 AM 4 Comments
Oh. Ingin berkongsi kongsi dengan rakan2 (yg mana lum tahu lah).
Ini ada web bes jugak. Yg ada citer2 pasal pregnancy, babies etc etc.
http://www.dumex.com.my/

Byk artikel. Yg berkenaan dgn kita tentulah ini.

Amik sket petikannya :
Get your partner involved too!

Of course, how quickly you get pregnant isn't all down to you. Your partner has a very important role to play too! He should try to:

• Stop smoking and avoid any excessive intake of alcohol.

• Reduce too much of caffeine intake.

• Reduce his stress levels.

• Stay away from hazardous work environments: some chemicals can affect his sperm.

• Keep his testicles cool: make sure he's got some roomy, cotton underpants and ensure his trousers aren’t too tight.

• Encourage him to eat well: plenty of fruit and vegetables will provide a wide range of vitamins and minerals including Vitamin C - essential for producing healthy sperm. Foods high in Zinc are good for virility so he should be eating foods such as seafood, meat, eggs, seeds and wholegrain. Lots of calcium rich dairy foods and iron rich red meat and pulses should also be on the menu.

Dan yang penting ini jugak....!

Stay relaxed and enjoy the practice!

The best advice for any couple trying for a baby is to relax and enjoy the practice! Mother Nature often doesn't want to feel rushed or pressurised.

It's a good idea to keep having a fun and loving sexual relationship all month – so you don't begin to only associate sex with making babies and pile the pressure on each other.

Moga kita mendapat manfaat darinya.

Salam Ramadhan kedua dari Kekda :)

Simptom Mengandung

7:36 PM 16 Comments
Dah jarang2 sembang pasal info2 berkaitan pregnancy kan?
Jadi meh nak tepek entry pasal Top 10 sings signs of pregnancy.
Dipetik dari web : babycentre

1. Prickling, tingling nipples

This can be one of the very earliest signs of pregnancy, kicking in within a week or so of conception.

You may feel a tingling sensation as pregnancy hormones increase the blood supply to your breasts, particularly around the nipples. Once your body gets used to the hormone surge, the sensation will subside.

2. Spotting and cramping

It's common to have some spotting, a slight pink or brown-coloured stain in your knickers or when you pee, as well as cramping. Spotting in very early pregnancy could be caused by the egg implanting in your uterus.

A little bleeding at around the time you'd normally expect your period may be caused by the hormones that control your periods breaking through.

3. Feeling sick

If you're lucky you'll escape this completely. However morning sickness is a common symptom of early pregnancy. It often starts when you're four to six weeks pregnant. You may feel nauseated and queasy, or even vomit. Despite its name, morning sickness can affect you morning, noon or night.

4. Tender, swollen breasts

From about six weeks pregnant, your breasts may become increasingly tender to the touch. It’s similar to how they feel before your period, only more so.

You may notice that your breasts are larger and swollen, with blue veins visible just below the skin. Tenderness tends to be most common in the first trimester, easing as pregnancy progresses.

5. Fatigue

Feeling tired? No, make that exhausted. You may find yourself diving for your duvet as your body cranks up to support your baby right from the early stages of pregnancy.

Though fatigue is not a sure-fire symptom on its own, it's a common pregnancy symptom. You may find tiredness wipes you out most in the first and third trimesters.

6. Needing to pee frequently

From about six weeks pregnant, you may notice that you're going to the loo more often.

This is down to a combination of pregnancy hormones, a larger volume of blood in your system and your kidneys working extra hard. Watch out though, if you get pain or a burning sensation when you pee, it might be a urinary tract infection.

7. Darkening of your nipples

Skin changes are common during pregnancy. One of the first ones you may notice is the circle of skin round your nipples (your areolas) getting darker. This can happen from about eight weeks.

You may also find that the bumps around your nipples become more pronounced or your nipples are more erect. At this time your vulva and vagina may change to a deeper, purplish red too.

8. Altered sense of taste

You may go off some foods, but develop a craving for others. Some women report a metallic taste in their mouth, others that they can’t stand the taste of coffee, tea or a food they usually like.

It's a cliché, but food cravings or aversions sometimes can be a sign of pregnancy. If they're accompanied by some of the other symptoms on this list, start counting the days from your last period.

9. A missed period

If you're usually pretty regular and your period doesn't start on time, you'll probably take a pregnancy test before you notice any other symptoms. A missed period is one of the surest signs of pregnancy.

But if your periods are irregular or you lost track of when your next one was due, you won’t realise your period is late. In this case, tender breasts, feeling queasy and needing extra trips to the loo may be early clues that you’re pregnant.

And finally...

10. The proof: A positive home pregnancy test

Most home tests will give you a reliable result if you wait until at least the first day of a missed period. If a blue line appears in the test window, you're probably expecting. Make an appointment with your midwife, read our article, 50 reasons to be glad you're pregnant. Congratulations!

******
Sedih rasa.
Sbb bila dkt2 nak period simptom2 ni mesti ada.
Kecuali yg missed period tu la.

Baru nak seronok2 berangan mintak2 la tak period dah.
Esuknya pasti dia terkulat2 datang. Haih.
Geram kan.
Salu je false alarm.

Ye lah. Bila kita mcm rasa ada simptom pregnant, otak pun mula berkomplot utk berniat jahat yg konon nya betul lah ko pregnant, sekali... nan hadoo.. pecah gak telur tu.
Again. Geram kan.

Tp sbg seorang yg periodnya amat regular, aku tak perlu la bangan lebih dah pregnant unless lewatnya seminggu sbbnya period aku tetap dan berpencen dah. Cycle dia 28-31 camtu je. Tak lari. Huhu.

Taktau la bila nak mengecapi perasaan ini... tssskkk......
