Hari ni ada appointment di FMGC atau nama penuhnya Fetal Medicine and Gynaecology Centre. Letaknya nun di Jalan Universiti. Dekat2 area PPUM/Columbia Hosp.
1st time lah sampai ke situ. Memang tak pernah pergi pun. Mujo lah cam senang tempatnya. Lagipun husband expert juga lah area2 situ. Tapi, mmg takkan perasan ada signboard ke apa dari luar tu. Kiterang pun main masuk je area parking. Tetengok mmg bebtul dkt dengan klinik tu bila tgk kereta ada tulis "reserved for FMGC". Betul dah la tu.
Appointment pagi. Sampai klinik dalam kul 9.00. Bagi kat nurse surat appointment dari Dr Natasha, then nurse suruh register. Lepas siap register, nurse kata doktor tak masuk lagi so dia suruh pergi breakfast dulu. Ada kedai mamak kat bawah tu. Gi la makan roti canai dulu. Pastu dalam 9.30 naik balik. Tunggu jap. Dalam kul 10 nama panggil.
Ramai chinese je kat klinik ni. Orang melayu pun ada la 3 couple termasuk kami. Itu pun agaknya di suggest oleh Dr Natasha jugak kot.
Dr Natasha yang advise untuk pergi sini dan buat detail scan.
Ni kira option. Nak pergi boleh, tak pergi boleh.
Utk ibu yang mengandung atas umur 35tahun elok lah p buat detail scan ni.
Scan ni dinamakan Nuchal Scan.

The Nuchal Scan (11 to 13 weeks, 6 days gestation - CRL of 45 to 84 mm)
The crown-to-rump length (CRL) measurement provides an accurate assessment of the gestational age of the fetus and verify the estimated date of delivery (EDD). All the major organs of the body are developed by this stage and therefore it is a good time to exclude structural abnormalities of the fetus.
The anatomy of the fetus is thereforte examined at this stage of pregnancy, to exclude any abnormalities of the skull and brain, arms, legs, stomach, spine, abdomen and bladder.
The majority of pregnancies are normal but in some cases, the baby is born with a chromosomal abnormality such as Down's syndrome. However, the only way to confirm this for sure is to perform an invasive test such as chorionic villous sampling (CVS) or amniocentesis. These procedures carry a risk of miscarriage between 0.5 to 1%.
Recent studies showed that ultrasound measurement of the nuchal translucency (an area beneath the skin) and presence of the nasal bone will detect almost 90% of Down's syndrome. Since it is non-invasive, there is no risk of miscarriage. Eleven to 13+6 weeks gestation is the ideal time to measure the nuchal translucency (NT) and look for the presence of the nasal bone.
The accuracy of this test is increased by measuring the level of two hormones in the mother's blood (Beta HCG & Papp-A)

Kira scan ni macam nak tgk kalau2 ada abnormalities pada fetus lah. Boleh juga detect down syndrome.

Dapat dengar bunyi jantung, bunyi apa ntah lagi lah.
Tgk darah yang masuk cemana.
Nampak juga baby gerak gerak. Eiii... so excited walau baru 12 minggu kan.

Dan doktor kata, baby elok cantik je. Takde nampak sebarang abnormalities.

Eish. Mesti lah takde kan. Kita kan orang Islam. Terima lah seadanya.

Doktor kata if nak buat detail scan lagi, dtg masa 5 bulan nanti.
Okay je. Kalau kat PPUKM takde detail scan ni, kiterang mmg nak datang lagi nanti.

p/s : Dapat lagi gambar scan baby. Takat ni dah 3 koleksi gambar baby ibu. Masa 7 weeks, 9 weeks and skrg 12 weeks. Wah. Best nya :)
